Uniform Policy

Woodford Valley Primary Academy School Uniform Policy 

At Woodford Valley Primary Academy, there is a school uniform which everyone is expected to wear.  

These uniform expectations are outlined in order to: 

  • Promote a sense of pride, belonging and community within the school 
  • Support equality and reduce peer pressure related to clothing choices 
  • Ensure pupils are dressed appropriately for a positive learning environment 
  • Be practical, affordable and inclusive for all families 
Winter Uniform 
  • Branded green school jumper or cardigan 
  • Grey or black trousers, skirt, dress or shorts 
  • Green or white polo shirt 
  • Grey, black or green tights
  • Black or brown school shoes, boots or plain black leather trainer shoes (No sports trainers) 
  • Warm, waterproof coat 
Summer uniform 
  • Branded green jumper/ cardigan or plain green jumper/ cardigan 
  • Green & white/yellow gingham/ checked dress 
  • Grey or black trousers, skirt, dress or shorts 
  • Green or white polo shirt/ shirt 
  • Grey, black or green tights or socks 
  • Black or brown school shoes, boots or plain black leather trainer shoes (No sports trainers) 
  • Sun hat 
PE Kit 
  • Branded yellow t-shirt 
  • Green sports hoody (optional) 
  • Plain knee length black shorts/ skort or black/green jogging bottoms or black leggings 
  • Sports trainers or plimsolls 
Jewellery, Accessories and Appearance 
  • One pair of small stud earrings may be worn 
  • Watches are permitted (not smart watches with any mobile connectivity) 
  • Necklaces (unless a cross), bracelets or rings are not allowed to be worn 
  • Long hair must be tied up 
  • Hair accessories should be simple and appropriate for school 
  • No make up, nail varnish or fake nails  

All items are expected to be clearly labelled. 

Our branded uniform items can be purchased on our school website or second hand from our PTA. 

This policy has been developed in line with Department for Education (DfE) guidance on school uniform.
