Sports & Activities

Sport is an important part of school life at Woodford Valley. Our pupils are given many opportunities to try out new sports and to represent the school in different festivals during their time with us. We encourage all pupils to participate in sport as we know it builds confidence, resilience and instils a love of sport for later in life. We also want our pupils to recognise the physical and mental rewards sport can have on their lives.

Within school we have inter-house sports tournaments led by the house-captains, these include netball, football and cricket.

Children can be selected to take part in festivals outside of school and will play in teams with their peers. This teaches them the benefits of being part of a team whilst upholding the School Games values.

Festivals that we take part in across the year include, mini-marathons, swimming galas, rugby, cricket, football and gymnastic festivals. Alongside this, we have provided the pupils with other sporting opportunities like tennis, skate-boarding, riding and fencing.
