Wilsford Class - Year 3 - Mrs Woodley

Hello, I am Mrs Woodley, the class teacher in Year 3.

The class Teaching Assistant is Mrs Fay. Our class topic this term is the Stone Age, this term we will learn about how people lived at that time as well as learning about Stonehenge and why this is of local and global importance. Our Science topic is Plants and we will learn about growth and what plants need to survive and thrive.

PE is on a Wednesday, and swimming is on a Thursday. Children need to have their PE kit in school on a Wednesday. When it is cold children will need to have a PE jumper to wear. Children shouldn’t wear their school jumper for PE – if it were wet they wouldn’t have anything dry to change into. On a Thursday children should bring their swimming kit to school. Children need a one piece swimsuit and goggles, if they like to wear these, packed in a bag to take to the swimming pool. They will also need a towel to dry themselves off afterwards.

We will have lots of fun together this term, and learn lots of new things!

By the end of the year we will have tried these:

Make your own Stonehenge.

Make a cloud in a jam jar.

Learn the 4 x table.

Take swimming lessons.

Experiment with magnets.

Write the diary of a rain drop.
