As well as these book recommendations, here are some further recommendations of how to find new authors and genres that your children might like:
Firstly, I always recommend going to your local library and speaking to the children’s librarian. They tend to have the latest books in stock and follow the publications of highly-acclaimed authors. It’s also worth noting that library memberships are free and you get free audio books included (great for long car journeys!). Similarly, Waterstones and other local bookshops have fantastic displays and expert sales assistants who can guide you and your child to books that would be suitable for their age, interests and reading abilities.
Another super place to search is the website called “Book Trust”. Use their “BookFinder” https://www.booktrust.org.uk/books-and-reading/bookfinder/
Search thousands of hand-picked book recommendations to find a child’s next favourite read – from astonishing adventures to fantastic facts, our…

to search a variety of fiction genres: science, history, politics, fantasy, around the world; as well as non-fiction book recommendations.
And of course, if you and your child discover a great new book together, don’t forget to recommend it to others – or even swap books!
