A Rainbow of Hope
In our music lessons we worked on making a video of a song without singing as a tribute to our NHS working so hard at this difficult time. Please click here to view the recording.
Olympic Dance
In June 2016 we celebrated Olympic week with class dance workshops. Each class worked on a dance and, at the end of the week, came together to form the Olympic circles! Click here to watch the video. The video was sent off to Team GB! This was there response:
Dear Woodford Valley Primary School,
What a magnificent video, we really enjoyed watching it and thank you for taking the time to create it, a lot of hard work must have gone in to it.
We really hope you’ve been enjoying the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and know that you’ll all have your favourite moments.
It means so much to the athletes to know that they have support throughout the country and just last night record breaking gold medallist Laura Trott said how much it meant to have ‘the nations support back home.’ That’s you guys!
Thanks so much again and we look forward to see what you create for the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic Games!
Best wishes,
Tom

Year 6 Leaver Service Salisbury Cathedral
Our year 6 leavers 2016 took part in five days of activities at Salisbury Cathedral. 1,392 children from schools across the diocese took part in drama workshops and wrote acrostic poems about friendship before taking part in a daily service. They also sang ‘Wherever You Go’, a song composed for the occasion by Colin Martin. You can listen to the song and read about the service and activities by following this link.
In December 2013 our school was the first in the county to achieve a Sing Up Gold award! On the 29th of January 2014 we performed a concert to celebrate our achievement with pupil, teachers and parents joining in for a sing-a-long. The Salisbury Journal came too and this is the article that was published in the newspaper.
Aspire at the City Hall
A group of children were invited to perform Aspire to Inspire to an audience of 400 people at the City Hall Salisbury on Thursday 12th September 2013! They opened an evening of conversation with John Humphrys and Andrew Harvey (President of Children’s Chance) called ‘Humphrys in the Hot Seat’. This was celebrate the 15th anniversary of Children’s Chance, a charity which funds activities for children in and around Salisbury. Jane Miller, from the charity said;
‘Your school pupils were amazing, and Colin Martin and the other staff members just brilliant, not to mention mums and dads for bringing their children. I have had lots of feedback from the evening, and everybody without exception loved the choir. John Humphrys in the wings was clapping so enthusiastically too! And a choirmaster friend said afterwards how excellent they were. What a triumph for you all. I have had many experiences over 15 years with the charity but the arrival and performance by Woodford Valley School choir will be one of my lasting and most special memories, I cannot thank you enough.’
